Our Catholic Community at St Peter and St Paul
Christ and his teachings are very much at the heart of all we do at St Peter and St Paul. Together with parents and parish, we seek to develop and nurture the Catholic faith of our children and bring them to a fuller understanding and knowledge of Catholic teaching and tradition. The vital partnership of home, school and parish provides the context for the lifelong process of religious formation. At St Peter and St Paul we recognise the importance of parents as the child’s first teacher and their role in faith development. We aim to work in partnership with parents and seek ways in involving them in the religious life of their children by providing opportunities for them to engage in school life. Parents are invited to attend class assemblies, whole school and class Masses. They are kept informed of what their child will be learning in Religious Education lessons and the events taking place in school through the newsletters and the introduction of new termly Religious Education newsletters.
We have bought a new RE scheme of work called the ‘The Way, The Truth and The Life’. We are hoping it will enhance our existing RE scheme.
The new scheme is:
- Written by teachers for teachers
- Based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church
- Covers requirements of the Religious Education Curriculum Directory
- Rolling programme of greatly improved New Editions
